Melanotan-2 (MT-II) 10mg

31.00

Melanotan-2 (MT-II) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of α-MSH and a non-selective melanocortin receptor agonist (primarily MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R; minimal activity at MC2R). It is supplied as a high-purity lyophilized powder and used in research on melanogenesis/photobiology and central melanocortin pathways.

          Mechanism of action

          Melanocortin receptor agonism (MC1R/3R/4R/5R)

MT-II activates melanocortin GPCRs; MC1R drives melanogenesis in skin, while MC3R/MC4R mediate central effects (e.g., sexual function, energy balance).

          Melanogenesis & photobiology

MC1R stimulation increases eumelanin via cAMP/MITF/tyrosinase pathways; increased melanin is broadly photoprotective. (Context from α-MSH/melanocortin literature.)

          Central neurosexual effects (MC4R-linked)

Studies with MT-II demonstrate erectogenic and pro-desire effects, consistent with central melanocortin pathway activation.
